As many of you are aware, one cannot simply pick up a golf club, swing it with no prior experience, and expect to get a solid shot on the fairway. I have picked up hundreds of tips, and if I should say so myself, have a pretty awesome swing. Swinging a golf club is very similar to swinging a baseball bat. I advise you watch some MLB games and really pay close attention to the batters' swings. If you look closely, you can see how they sharply turn their hips, do not move their heads, and pivot their back foot. There are many men in professional baseball who are overweight, or just scrawny. But even those men are able to hit it out of the park. And today, I will be showing you how to have that perfect swing.
1. USE THE POWER OF YOUR MIND! Many golfers tee up and tell themselves, I am the best in the world, here comes a hole in one. NEWSFLASH: 99 times out of 100, you will not get a hole in one, and you probably aren't the best golfer in the world! Instead, tell yourself: I can do this, I am going to shoot it on the fairway. 2. Strengthen your "golf muscles." Your golf muscles are your fingers, wrists, back leg, neck, and hips. I will go more into muscle strengthening on a different post.
3. Golf with a buddy. If you go golfing with a buddy, he can casually point out things you are doing wrong, and makes golf a bit more fun.
4 Videotape yourself! All the pro golfers do it, its free, so why not? Pull out your phone, mount it somewhere, and watch a pros swing and yours sie by side. You will be amazed at the things you can pick up.
