Tiger Woods
The greatest, the worst, overpaid, over glorified, scandoulous, cheating, lying, greedy. These are just some of the words to describe the most famous golfing figure of all time, Tiger Woods. This is a thread I want you guys to comment on, and discuss the man and player you think he really is. No opinion is the wrong one!
The Power of YOUR Mind
The Power of Your Mind
Use your imagination! To play better golf, you need to use the power of your mind. In every sport, athletes perform better using their imagination. For example, tennis players would sometimes close their eyes and start imagining that they hit the tennis ball down the line every shot (I was watching tennis and heard the announcer say this once). Same thing in golf. For example, Tiger Woods would imagine the golf ball running into the hole before he even starts putting (but still remember, he does not visualize hole in ones every time!). To do this properly, you need to practice. Tiger Woods practice a lot, and that give him more images in his mind. The more you practice, the more you see, the more accurate your imagination can be. Surprisingly, I was introduced to this method by one of my friends when I was about 13. We played baseball together, and he was the best player in our team. He asked me if I want to know why he played so well. I said yes, then he started telling me that before he went to sleep, he would close his eyes and start imagining that he is playing baseball. However, this imagination needs to be real. He didn't just imagine playing baseball alone, but playing with other players, just like he would do in a real game. Therefore, next time when you go to practice, pay close attention to where the ball goes, and try to remember it. Try to imagine a line before hitting every shot as to where the ball would go. If the ball goes over your imagination line, keep that image in your mind. If it doesn't go as you imagine, correct your imagination by remembering where the ball goes. By doing this, you will know where the ball would go the next time hitting the ball. As a result your imagination would be more accurate. Happy golfing!

A Simple Sport
Preperation/Upswing
1. Rotate around your spine. The hip should rotate around your spine as well (make sure tomaintain the flex and position of your right knee, because it will prevent you from turning your hip toomuch).
2. Weight stays inside of your right foot at all times.
3. The right knee. Keep the flex and position of your right knee, again, all the time.

4. Right elbow. The distance of your right elbow to your body doesn’t change from setup to the top. Thisprevents you from flying up the right elbow at the top of your swing.
5. The right wrist. Keep the same angle of my right wrist from the setup to impact.
The Downswing
1. Let your body uncoil itself. Never feel like you try to rush down to the ball faster then you want to.
2. Keep your right foot on the ground. Try keep it on the ground to impact to channel more energy to the ball.
3. Feel energy passing in order from your right hamstring to the club. The energy chain: right hamstring->hip->trunk->shoulder->arms->hands->club head
4. Feel your left arm connected to your chest.
5. The right wrist. Keep the same angle of my right wrist from the setup to impact.

The Fast Track to a Perfect Swing
As many of you are aware, one cannot simply pick up a golf club, swing it with no prior experience, and expect to get a solid shot on the fairway. I have picked up hundreds of tips, and if I should say so myself, have a pretty awesome swing. Swinging a golf club is very similar to swinging a baseball bat. I advise you watch some MLB games and really pay close attention to the batters' swings. If you look closely, you can see how they sharply turn their hips, do not move their heads, and pivot their back foot. There are many men in professional baseball who are overweight, or just scrawny. But even those men are able to hit it out of the park. And today, I will be showing you how to have that perfect swing.
1. USE THE POWER OF YOUR MIND! Many golfers tee up and tell themselves, I am the best in the world, here comes a hole in one. NEWSFLASH: 99 times out of 100, you will not get a hole in one, and you probably aren't the best golfer in the world! Instead, tell yourself: I can do this, I am going to shoot it on the fairway. (For more on the power on the mind/visualization, check out this story http://www.cnn.com/2012/08/01/us/virginia-daughter-saves-dad/index.html).
2. Strengthen your "golf muscles." Your golf muscles are your fingers, wrists, back leg, neck, and hips. I will go more into muscle strengthening on a different post.
3. Golf with a buddy. If you go golfing with a buddy, he can casually point out things you are doing wrong, and makes golf a bit more fun.
4 Videotape yourself! All the pro golfers do it, its free, so why not? Pull out your phone, mount it somewhere, and watch a pros swing and yours sie by side. You will be amazed at the things you can pick up.
-I hope you learned a good deal from this post, I will be posting more soon. Happy golfing!
